Better birthing through Neuroscience

Havening Touch for Childbirth is psycho-sensory approach to pregnancy and labor, and developed for nurses, midwives, doulas, doctors, and other birth professionals.

WHAT IS PERINATAL HAVENING?

Havening is a psychosensory therapy developed by Drs. Ronald and Steven Ruden, designed to utilize the therapeutic power of touch (Havening Touch) to foster positive changes in the brain. This innovative approach aims at the healing of past traumas and the strengthening of mental resilience through the promotion of neuroplasticity. Kimm Sun, a Certified Havening Trainer and a Midwife, has further adapted this technique to meet the specific needs of childbirth, resulting in the creation of Perinatal Havening.

The transition to motherhood involves significant neurological adaptations as the brain prepares for the responsibilities of nurturing and protecting a new life. This period of transformation can enhance a woman's sensitivity to her surroundings, sharpening her awareness and possibly leading to an increased state of alertness. Perinatal Havening is an efficient tool that rapidly mitigate stress and anxiety during this critical time. By facilitating the release of oxytocin, often referred to as the "love hormone," it not only diminishes stress but also enhances the overall sense of well-being for expectant mothers, with the potential to foster confidence and mental resilience in the perinatal journey.
